The North Cascades Conservation Council

The NCCC Mission: To protect and preserve the North Cascades' scenic, scientific, recreational, educational, and wilderness values. NCCC endorses the American Alps Legacy Project as one of its primary current initiatives. Since 1957 when it was founded, NCCC's top priority has been has been to protect public lands in the North Cascades by establishing the North Cascades National Park and adjacent Wilderness Areas. Thanks in large part to NCCC's efforts over half a century, the map of the North Cascades looks far different now than it did in 1957 at NCCC's founding, with vastly more dark green. NCCC now seeks to fill-in the gaps in that dark green, and protect the missing pieces of the Park.
